Flavius Aecius vs Atila, the Hun

This image was a comission by a brazilian history magazine called "Grandes Guerras" (Great Wars).

This spread introduces the two characters who battled (actually their armies, not them...) by the end of the roman empire, and it was the first defeat of Atila.

I show the layout with the text applied because the composition works better this way. There's a huge empty space by the right that serves only as a background for the mass of text.

critics are very appreciated!

thanks

To Ashes

Hi there!
this image's story is about an angel who had her chance of being human and mortal for a limited time and now it's being called back.

I know it isn't the most original plot ever, but in fact the image didn't had a purpose initially. I started sketching the girl with orange dreads when I got the idea to expand the canvas to make some wings. Then the story began developing into this.

I really like to let the image "build" a story to me as I paint it sometimes.

Thanks for your attention
Feel free to comment or criticize it if you want to. I higly appreciate it

A fight of two Deaths

Hi there, long time I don't post anything here.

This image is based on a scene of Terry Pratchett's Reaper Man book.
in the book, Death is dismissed from his job and turned mortal, then nothing dies anymore until a new Death is found. This is the scene where the New Death (by the description It really looks like a Tolkien's Nazgul, but I think it's on purpose) comes to take Old Death's life and they fight.

I made a pencil sketch first then scanned, enlarged and painted over on photoshop in about 5 to 6 hours.
Hope you like it!

of course, every critics are highly appreciated

Waking in a Dungeon

Hi there you all!
This is the first spread of a book I'm illustrating.
It's a story about the adventures of two homeless young guys that have met each other while in childhood.
The first chapter is narrated by Eduardo Gabriel, this guy you see in the picture and it starts by them waking up locked in a sort of dungeon and remembering parts of their last adventures.
-
This was initialy pencil drawn, then painted in photoshop CS2 + Wacom.
hope you like it!
